Meeting Recap

We had a great attendance for this months meeting. Some great tunes were played.

We'll be aiming to have a new "Annual General Meeting" in January to elect new board members and begin planning things for the new year. So please make the January meeting a priority. We'll have more info on this soon.

Out next meeting will return to the usual second Sunday, Dec. 10th 2pm-5pm at the Phinney Community Center. We’ll be in ROOM 1 this time, to your LEFT as you enter the blue building.

Workshops & Concerts

MUSIC FROM IRELAND, SCOTLAND, AND WALES

The conductor of the Seattle Pro Musica has shared an upcoming event, A Celtic Winter. From their website:

Ring in the winter holidays with the joyous sounds of Celtic choral music! Your spirits will rise as we fill our gorgeous concert halls with lush harmonies from Ireland, Wales, and Scotland. Rousing carols, soothing lullabies, soaring spaces, and a candlelight procession. What better way to celebrate the season?

Featuring works by Judith Weir, James MacMillan, Tarik O’Regan, Paul Mealor, and more, with texts in Welsh, Gaelic, and English.

If you're interested, you can get tickets here:

Cillian Vallely & David Doocey

If you happened to make it to the Cillian Vallely and David Doocey concert last Sunday, you know it was a fantastic show. Cillian and David performed music form their new album, The Yew and the Orchid. I highly recommend buying it! The concert was followed by a lively and lengthy session. I am currently working on a way to share out a recording of the full concert to club members, so stay tuned for that.

Joey Abarta

We are working to get Joey Abarta to Seattle for a workshop in January. More info to come soon.

Bits & Bobs

I stumbled across a series of 1990s VHS recordings showcasing numerous pipers. Each video has a list in the description of who’s playing. Have a listen!

That’s it for this month. See you in December!
