September Newsletter
Meeting Recap
Hello once again, everyone!
We’ve had a great September so far. Louise Mulcahy joined us for a fantastic weekend of music, including flute and piping workshops and an excellent house concert. We even managed to fit in a little BBQ during the piping workshop, keeping up our September tradition!
With everything going on, we skipped our usual monthly meeting, but I think spending the weekend learning, playing tunes, and enjoying some great music with Louise was a pretty good substitute.
International Uilleann Piping Day Fundraiser
We’ll be hosting another céilí this year to celebrate International Uilleann Piping Day! Our goal is to raise enough funds to support next year’s workshops and concerts, including bringing at least two visiting pipers to Seattle—but we can’t do it without your support.
This year’s fundraiser will once again be held at the Doric Lodge, with our own Vice President Dylan and his band, Stray Sod, providing the music and the talented Alicia Guinn returning to call the dances.
We’ll also be holding another fundraiser raffle, and we’re looking for donations from local businesses and members of the community. Gift certificates, merchandise, food and drink, music-related items, and other prizes are all welcome. If you or a local business you know would like to contribute a raffle prize, please get in touch!
Join us on Saturday, November 7th for a great night of music, dancing, and supporting the club. More details and tickets will be coming soon!
IPC Annual Subscription
Speaking of supporting the club, our annual subscription is one of the easiest ways to help!
For $20 a year—the same price as our former annual dues—subscribers receive discounts on workshops and concerts, along with access to recordings of previous IPC house concerts. We’ll also be adding Louise Mulcahy’s recent concert soon!
Your subscription directly helps us bring visiting pipers and other traditional musicians to Seattle for workshops and concerts, while also helping us build toward our next Tionól. You can sign up here:

I came across an incredible album by Eena O Crinin showcaing the Meath piping tradition. Enjoy!
That’s it for now. See you all in October!.
